Gray, Christopher Date born: 1915 Place Born: Date died: Place died: Scholar of French modernism and professor of art history at Johns Hopkins University. Gray received his Ph.D. from Harvard University with a dissertation on the theories of Cubism in 1951. He published a version of his dissertation in 1953. In 1963 he completed a catalogue raisonné on the three-dimensional works of Gauguin, Sculpture and Ceramics of Paul Gauguin. His students included Francis V. O'Connor (q.v.).
