Lányi, Jenö Date born: 1902 Place Born: Várna, Hungary (modern Slovakia) Date died: 1940 Place died: near England, on a destroyed boat Italian renaissance scholar of sculpture, career cut short when the ship he was immigrating on was torpedoed during WW II.
