Modernist art collector and historian, proponent of German Expressionism. Schiefler was one of the "passive members" (supporting members) of the German Expressionist movement Die Brücke which organized itself along the lines of a German artists’ association. As well as the ‘active members’ or artists other passive members included the art historian Rosa Schapire (q.v.).
