Seidlitz, Woldemar von Date born: 1850 Place Born: St Petersburg, Russia Date died: 1922 Place died: Dresden, Germany Museum director at Dresden. He collaborated with Georg Gronau (q.v.) on Leonardo scholarship. Kultermann sites Seidlitz among those Gründerzeit museum directors, along with Wilhelm von Bode, (q.v.), Alfred Lichtwark, (q.v.), Justus Brinckmann, q.v.) and Karl Woermann, (q.v.), as responsible for the formation of art history by virtue of their scholarship and interest in museum training.
